How to get ‘In The Zone’ One of the hardest things people find about losing weight is ‘getting in the zone’. While you may feel ready, you know you want to lose weight and you’ve made a start – if you’re not in the right frame of mind then you may find it really difficult to stay on track or to be lead astray.

If you’re feeling like your heads not quite ‘in it’ yet, have a read through this post and see if you can find your ‘click’ (that moment when it all falls into place mentally and you’re ready to power through to get to your goals).

Love yourself

We have found that approaching a weight-loss plan from a place of ‘love’ is a better way to get started than a place of self-depreciation.

If you’re telling yourself that you’re making changes because you love yourself, you’re eating healthily because you love your body and want to nourish it, that you want to lose weight because you will love all the things you will be able to do in the future – then you’re in the right mind set.

If you keep telling yourself that you’re doing this because you’re unhappy, that a diet will be the only thing that makes you happy, that you’re depriving yourself of your favourite food and you don’t know why, that exercise is a chore, that you hate that you can’t do things now – then you haven’t found your ‘click’ and you need to adjust your thinking.

Approaching your weight-loss goals, or any goals, from a place of positivity will make you much more focused and successful.

Remember why you are doing this

What is motivating you? If you keep reminding yourself why you’re on this weight-loss journey then you’ll find it easier to stay on the right path. Put reminders around your desk/fridge/mirrors so your goal is never far from your mind

If you don’t have a motivation, find one! Most ‘clicks’ come from motivation. Do you have children who could be your focus? Do you want to run around with them when they get older? Is there a big event you’d like to feel amazing for? Or a hobby you’ve always wanted to do but you’ve felt held back from? Find that thing that will give your journey even more purpose.

Plan

Having a plan will help you stay focused. Look at your week ahead and see where there could be any obstacles or distractions that could cause a glitch in your weight loss, then come up with a plan.

Busy day with lots of meetings? Make sure you pack a ready-to-drink, bar or salad to take to work with you. Dinner at a friends’? Let them know you’re following a plan and see if they can accommodate it or if they’d mind you bringing your products with you. Travelling, make sure you pack enough products to see you through while you’re away.

Looking ahead is the easiest way to stop yourself getting caught short and being forced to make unhealthy choices.

Keep track of achievements

Successful people record their achievements, they write them down and celebrate their successes. Buy a notebook and write down every time you feel you’ve achieved something, whether that’s a weight-loss victory, a fitness triumph or even something as simple as resisting temptation.
