First things first the law of spa days insist that fluffy robes and slippers must be worn at all times, so make sure you have the comfiest, snuggliest dressing gown to hand.

Spa essentials for a luxe spa true experience, you need to prepare a jug of iced water, flavoured with lemon, or cucumber, or cucumber and mint – whichever infused flavour you prefer. It won’t feel like a spa day without it! Also you should set the mood with lots of candles and soothing music.

Let’s start with a bath, a nice warm bath, fill it with bubbles, a fancy bath bomb, that bottle of expensive bath oils you’ve been ‘saving for a special occasion’, you could even use a couple of handfuls of Epsom or sea salt and add some essential oils (try a few drops of Lavender oil for a lovely calming experience).

Wash your hair really take your time to massage the shampoo into your scalp (like a mini head massage treatment) rinse and then…

Apply a hair mask we recommend using coconut oil for hair like sheaths of silk, smooth the oil through your ends (avoid roots if you have naturally oily hair, go wild at the roots if you have thin or lifeless hair as it’s rumoured to stimulate growth and thicken hair) – as it’s all natural you can leave this on for as long as you desire.

Now for your face, a little prep is required here so you’re ready to apply your face mask once you’re in the bath and while your hair mask is working its magic. Before getting in the bath remove any makeup, and use a gentle cleanser so your skin is ready, then mix yourself up a fresh face potion, with some supplies you probably already have lying around.

  • If you have dry skin: mash ½ an avocado, 2 tbsps of honey and ½ tsp of coconut oil
  • Soothing sore skin: ½ a cup of porridge oats soaked for 10 minutes in ½ cup hot water, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp of yoghurt – blend this one up and apply (allow to cool a little)
  • Cocoa Detox mask: blend 2 tbsps fresh ground coffee, 2 tbsps cocoa powder, 1 tbsp honey and 3 tbsps of yoghurt

Leave the masks on for 10 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. Follow wish a few splashes of cold water to close your pours and finish with your favourite moisturiser (or our trusty all-purpose favourite: coconut oil!)

Get scrubbing you can use an exfoliating scrub you have already or you can mix up coconut oil and sugar or salt for a super moisturising DIY scrub.

Rinse it all off, the scrub, the hair mask, hop out the bath (ensure you have spent sufficient time relaxing and chilling amidst all of this pampering, we hope you snuck a good book in with you!) dry yourself off with the softest, fluffiest towel you own, maybe after leaving it on a radiator for a little while, smother yourself in your most moisturising lotion and slip straight into that fluffy robe we mentioned earlier, spend the rest of the day sipping your fancy water, and not lifting a finger (unless your finishing off your pamper with a few coats of polish on your nails!)
